What is Reishi?
Reishi mushroom is any number of fungi under the genus Ganoderma; the two most common types are Ganoderma Lucidum, and Ganoderma Tsugae. There are others but they all essentially contain the same medicinal and beneficial compounds. Our Reishi product is made from 100% wild Ganoderma Tsugae fruit bodies harvested sustainably here in Pennsylvania.
The lore of Reishi goes back thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Referred to as “The Mushroom of Immortality” and “Herb of Spiritual Potency”. It is a beautiful tree mushroom that appears to have a varnished red appearance, with some brilliant yellow and a white leading edge as it grows. The Taoist sages held this mushroom in high regard, calling it the “Queen of Herbs” (alongside Chaga, “the King”).
What are the health benefits of Reishi?
Obviously there is a reason Reishi was held in such high regard. The Ancients knew of many benefits to this mushroom. Since this particular mushroom has so many benefits, and is one of the most researched, the highlighted benefits section above is cited with the studies we usually include in a separate paragraph. Even with all these benefits, these are not all the benefits studied and is in no way an exhaustive list.
